Trinamool Congress leader Dr. Shashi Panja reacted to the firing on party leader Raju De in Cooch Behar, stating that the BJP's violent face is beginning to show ahead of the elections. Her statement came after Raju De, Sahakari-Sabhapati of the Cooch Behar-2 Panchayat Samiti and former Anchal President of Chakchaka, was shot in the right shoulder late Thursday night while returning home from party work in the Jhinaidanga area. He was taken to a local hospital and underwent surgery. Police have registered a case, initiated an investigation, reviewed CCTV footage, and tightened security in the area. The son of BJP MLA Sukumar Roy has been detained for questioning, though no arrests have been made so far.
